Re: CHANGE IN JURISPRUDENCE EXAMINATION EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2003
Commencing January 1, 2003, ALL new applicants for certification or registration will be required to take and pass a Jurisprudence Examination administered by the Board at Board Offices, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD.
The following specifics and procedures shall apply:
- Applicants will be required to apply to take the examination by mailing in the Board Examination Application Form and $ 50.00 fee at least 10 business days prior to the date of the examination.
- Applicants must be graduates of a Board approved/accredited massage school and must have passed the NCBTMB or NCCAOM examination. To be eligible to take the exam, the Board must be in receipt of school transcripts and NCBTMB or NCCAOM certifications 10 business days before the test date.
- Effective January 2003 the examination will be scheduled once a month at the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21. The Board may amend this schedule at a later date.
- The examination shall be based solely on the Maryland massage therapy law and regulations. The examination is not open-book and applicants must achieve a passing score of 75%.
- Examination fee is $ 50.00 for the first examination and $ 50.00 for each re-take examination.
Payment by certified check or money order payable to “MD Board of Chiropractic Examiners”.
- Applicants shall only be admitted into the examination with the original test confirmation letter and two forms of identification, one of which MUST include photo identification such as a driver’s license or passport.
Passing this examination is an absolute requirement to achieve certification or registration – no waivers or exceptions.
